Education Access for All
Steve Neurauter (pronounced new-router) will work to ensure that all our district’s students have equal access to the fundamental right of education in District 89 — while committing to fiscal responsibility to local taxpayers.
Welcoming Environment and Focused Education for Each Student; Fiscal Responsibility
As a parent of three district-aged children who have attended each of the Pre-K through 8th grades within D89, Steve has seen how our students and various educational resources are used to improve each student's education. Steve’s objective as a member of the District 89 Board of Education has been and will continue to be to fight to keep the welcoming and focused education each student receives. Steve will also continue to ensure the district has the support it needs to continue improving.
A consultant to Fortune 50 companies and the US Government, Steve has created corporate strategies, negotiated policy, and oversaw operations execution within massive (and let’s be honest, often very bureaucratic) organizations such as NASA, the Department of Defense, and Boeing to be innovative and strategic, to trim the fat, operate more efficiently, and become better stewards of taxpayer dollars.
A Current D89 School Board Member during a challenging time for public education, Steve comes to the table with a thorough knowledge of D89’s policies, operations, budget, interfaces within the public education space, and our great community’s values — so he can hit the ground running.
A dad and community member, Steve’s vision is to prioritize initiatives that will continue to sustain and improve our district, starting with welcoming and focused access to education resources, prioritizing the safety and mental health of our students, teachers, and staff, and continuing to provide the quality education that D89 is known for — with one of the leanest budgets around.
